Terms & Conditions Accommodation

Your reservation and the accommodation agreement made with Tilghman Island Inn (whether made by you directly with TII or via a third party such as a travel agent) will be subject to these Reservation Terms and Conditions set out below.

If you make your reservation via a travel agent, or other third party, then you have a separate legal relationship with that party and Tilghman Island Inn (“TII”) has no liability for any acts or omissions of such party including their observance of your data protection rights.

When you make your reservation, you will be also deemed to have read, understood, and accepted the Privacy Policy for using the TII website (which shall mean www.TilghmanIslandInn.com or any related TII web pages accessible from it) and any relevant terms and conditions shall be deemed to be incorporated into your reservation and the accommodation agreement with the TII. TII provides an online reservations facility on the TII website and a telephone facility for making reservations at TII will not result in any contractual relationship between you and TII.

As there will be no contractual agreement between you and TII, and as TII does not control or verify the information that TII submit online or by phone, TII shall not be liable to you for:

(i) the accuracy or completeness of any TII information provided including, without limitation, the availability or price of rooms, facilities, products or services, or for any other errors or omissions of TII; or

(ii) any failure or delay beyond its control in the transmission of any data submitted including, but not limited to, the details of your reservation or changes to or cancellation of your reservation, in each case to the fullest extent permitted under applicable laws.


Reservation Rules and Restrictions

Check-in/Check-out Policy: Rates quoted are based on the check-in date and length of stay shown. Should you depart early prior to the departure date confirmed for any reason, the inn may impose an early departure fee. Check-in starts at 3 PM on the first day of your stay. Check-out is at 10 AM. For early check-in or late checkout, please contact the front desk prior to your arrival

Rate Rules/Restrictions: Rates are confirmed in the currency of the country and state in which we are located unless otherwise, agreed by us. Rates confirmed are for the number of occupants listed in your email confirmation, per room, per night, and do not include additional charges for rollaway beds or extra people and will apply only to rooms booked as part of this reservation. Applicable taxes and service charges will be added to the bill unless indicated as a package feature. Taxes, service charges, etc. are subject to change without notice according to local law.

Revision/Cancellation: Should you need to cancel, please do so 10 days prior to your initial reservation date to avoid cancellation fees. Cancellation less than 10 days prior to your initial reservation date will be subject to a charge of one night stay amount directly on the card used at reservation. Please make a note of the cancellation number for your records in the event of questions regarding cancellation of guaranteed reservations. Any changes to the arrival date, departure date, or room type of this reservation is subject to the inn’s availability at the time the change is requested and may result in a possible rate change and/or service fee. We reserve the right to cancel or modify reservations where it appears that a customer has engaged in fraudulent or inappropriate activity or under other circumstances where it appears that the reservations contain or resulted from a mistake or error.


1. Online reservations
The TII website and telephone facility enables you to check the accommodation offerings and availability of TII (and related products and services), as indicated to TII, and then submit an online or telephone reservation request. On completion of the reservation process, TII will transmit an online or email confirmation of your reservation. A reservation is only valid when a reservation number has been issued. Relevant details relating to products and services must be confirmed by you directly with TII including, for example, airport pick up and drop off times.

When reserving a room your name, address, arrival- and departure time and method of payment are required.

A room reservation is binding once it has been confirmed verbally or in writing and you have received a reservation confirmation number. TII is entitled to apply different kinds of rules such as reservation fee or credit card guarantee in order to secure the reservation.

2. Inn Prices
The prices indicated on the TII website and telephone facility for the TII rooms, products and services are subject to availability. Taxes and service charges are only included if indicated in the rate policy.

3. Payment
TII will request all reservations to provide a credit card to secure a room, product or service. The credit card may then be used by TII for payment of a deposit as advised at the time of booking or as a guarantee for a future payment, in the case of a no-show, a cancellation or change to the reservation.

4. Cancellations and Amendments
TII requests that any cancellations or amendments to your reservation using the same TII channel through which you booked, whether that be online or by telephone.

5. Rate/Reservation Validity
Reservation confirmations are provided to you solely for your convenience. TII retains official records of reservation transactions, including details of dates of stay and room, product and service rates. In the event of discrepancies, alterations, modifications, or variations between this confirmation and our official records, TII’s official records shall prevail. Tampering with this confirmation to alter any room, product or service rate or any other reservation information is strictly prohibited and will have legal consequences.

6. Early Departure
You may change your check out date without a penalty should it be accepted by a TII staff member.

7. Currency
Reservations will be charged in TII’s local currency as shown on the TII website or given over the telephone at the time of booking. Currently, the USD is the accepted form of currency at TII.

8. Rate Requirements
TII is not obligated to honor special rates, should you not qualify or do not have the proper identification for proof of qualification.

9. Pre-paid Reservations
For pre-paid reservations, once the reservation is made, the provided credit card will be charged for the full amount. Some pre-paid rates are non-cancellable, non-refundable, non-changeable and non-transferable. This will be identified during booking. 

10. Guarantee Rules
For reservations guaranteed with a credit card at the time of making your reservation, rooms are held until the check-out time on the day following the day of arrival. Should the room or service be booked with an invalid credit card, they are subject to immediate cancellation. 

11. Special Requests
TII staff will strive to honor any request for specific room types or bed types and will confirm such arrangements at the time you make your reservation. Until specific confirmation is issued then your request cannot be guaranteed and therefore cannot be guaranteed.

12. Pets
If you plan to travel with your pet, we recommend that you confirm directly with TII. Specific pet policies may require a damage/cleaning deposit at the time of check-in which may be non-refundable. This will be identified during booking.

13. External Services
The TII website may advertise the opportunity to purchase products or services from independent third party suppliers (“independent suppliers”) including, by way of illustration only and without limitation, excursions, yacht charters and museum passes (“external services”). The following provisions apply to all external services:

(i) All information on the TII website or otherwise communicated by TII regarding external services has been provided to TII by the independent suppliers. Such information does not constitute any endorsement or recommendation of the external service by TII is for general guidance only.

(ii) TII acts solely as intermediaries introducing independent suppliers. Your contract for any external services will be made direct with the relevant independent supplier and TII will not have any other involvement in or control over the provision of external services. Consequently, TII will not have any liability to you for the warranties, representations, acts, errors, omissions, breaches or negligence of any independent supplier or for any accidents, personal injuries, death, loss of or damage to property or any other losses, damages, costs or expenses resulting, directly or indirectly, from your purchase or use of any external service, to the fullest extent permitted under applicable laws.

It is the responsibility of the consumer to check that, where appropriate, the independent supplier has adequate public liability insurance for the external service and/or to ensure that you and any dependents or associates using the external service have adequate personal insurance cover against all foreseeable risks.

14. Guest’s Obligations
You agree to the terms and conditions of purchase imposed by TII. You also agree that you are fully responsible and shall pay for all charges, fees, duties, taxes, assessments and other amounts arising out of your reservation when due, including additional taxes and fees that may not be included in the quoted rate.

Any violations of TII’s conditions may result in cancellation of your reservation, forfeiting any monies paid for such reservation, debits to your account for any costs incurred as a result of violations, and removal from the property.

For safety reasons, only checked-in guests are allowed on the inn’s premises such as rooms and the maximum capacity per room may not be surpassed.

15. Force Majeure
TII will not be held liable for any change or cancellation of any reservation that is caused, in whole or in part, by events, occurrences, or causes beyond the control of TII. Such events, occurrences, or causes include, without limitation, acts of God, terrorist activities, weather, strikes, lockouts, riots, acts of war, earthquake, volcanic activity, ash clouds, tsunamis, fire and explosions.

16. Responsibility for Your Valuables
Your valuables can be stored in a safety deposit box in your room or TII can store your valuables upon request. TII is entitled to collect a charge for storage of these items.

In case the items you wish to store are exceptionally valuable you must notify TII before storing. TII may refuse to store this kind of valuables.

TII is not responsible for valuables stored in a safety deposit box in your room.

TII is not responsible for damage or disappearance of vehicles kept in the parking area or valuables inside the vehicle. The parking area is not supervised, therefore, TII forfeits responsibility for theft or damages to valuables stored in your vehicle or the vehicle itself.

17. Renting Inn Rooms for Minors
Only persons over the age of 18 is allowed to make a reservation. The adult making a reservation for a person under the age of 18 will be held responsible for the minor, whether he or she accommodates with the minor or not. TII may request contact information of a guardian should an underage person be traveling alone. 

18. Acceptance of Terms and Conditions
When you make your reservation, whether online or by telephone, you will be deemed to have read, understood and accepted these Reservation Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy. If you are not in agreement with our terms and conditions, then you should refrain from further use of our services.
